Details of Role:

Freelance fundraiser with proven track record of success in capital appeals, to raise approx. 20% of building purchase fund from grant making trusts for Severnside Institute for Psychotherapy (SIP), a registered charity based in Bristol

The appeal

SIP is aiming to raise £675,000 to purchase and adapt building, in order significantly to improve access to psychotherapy services and training.

Of this, £530,000 is already secured or pledged, through an interest-free loan (secured), a membership campaign (well under way), rental income and a previous grant

Amount to be raised from grant-making trusts

£145,000, to be pledged or secured by end April 2021

SIP has:

  • Developed a fundraising strategy, including mixed funding sources other than grant making trusts, which have already secured or identified almost 80% of the necessary purchase fund
  • Generated and collated material for the supporting case, including making two direct appeals to trusts, one successful and one pending
  • Identified 48 potentially suitable grant making trusts.

We now seek a fundraiser to:

  • review our bid
  • take a lead in
    • shortlisting trusts appropriate to a capital appeal
    • tailoring applications to individual funders
    • submitting applications

The fundraiser will work alongside an established fundraising group, with administrative support; in addition to working with the fundraiser to generate applications, this group has the resources to meet with potential funders, answer questions, provide additional information and – in due course – produce impact reports for funders
