FACE is an active medium-sized youth and community charity (registered CIO) based in North Bristol. The board of trustees is the governing body of FACE responsible for the overall management of the charity. All of our trustees are volunteers and we rely on them to help run the charity effectively.
The trustees provide us with the great skills, knowledge and experience we need to manage the charity well. Any single trustee does not need to know how to do everything, but our board is made up of people who can bring something different to complement each other in order to serve the people FACE works with to the best of their ability.
FACE works primarily with disadvantaged people (due to age, impairment or socio-economic circumstances) and aims to bring people together to break down barriers, develop skills and knowledge, and improve lives and communities through its work. The Core Values of FACE are Fun, Respect, Integrity, Empowerment, Equality and Making a Difference.
FACE are looking for a volunteer to take on the role of treasurer to help oversee the finances and governance of our charity. This would involve presenting financial information to the trustees on a regular basis regarding budgets, profitability, and other financial issues as necessary. The treasurer would have knowledge of charity SORP, ideally with prior experience of charity accounting.
- monitor the financial standing of FACE and report to the board of trustees at regular intervals regarding cash flow forecasting, income streams, outgoing expenses, and the strategic management of the financial resources
- liaise with external auditors on financial issues and ensure that the charity's finances are responsibly managed in the best interests of the charity
- work closely with the charity director, and finance officer to assist the smooth day-to-day running of the charity
- preparation of the annual report to the charities commission, and presentation of the same to the AGM
FACE are looking for four additional trustees to add to our current team. We are open to applications from anybody who is interested in, and passionate, about our aims, but would be particularly interested in speaking to candidates with experience in charity development, marketing, property management, business planning, fundraising, or human resources.
You would be expected to contribute to the group, often via electronic means, and attend fundraising and community awareness events when possible. Trustee meetings are held quarterly.
Complete the application form and send to the address on the form or email to firstname.lastname@example.org
