We’re looking for someone to provide strategic oversight of the Visitor Services & Volunteering functions of the railway. You’ll be our customer service champion, setting the standard for how we want to welcome and interact with our customers on their visitor journey. You’ll want to help us tell our story through the creation of a heritage interpretation strategy and seek to deliver this over the coming years using a variety of interpretative techniques. You’ll also ensure volunteering remains at the heart of the organisation, supporting the creation of systems and processes that successfully recruit and retain volunteers to ensure there are always sufficient staff to operate our business.
•Knowledge of, or previous success in, visitor or commercial operations over a number of years or in a variety of settings
•Strong leadership skills with ability to manage and motivate staff and volunteer teams
