Race & the City 2: tackling race inequalities

What does intersectionality look like in practice and what can we learn collectively about tackling race inequalities in key areas of local life?

Bristol’s Race Equality Strategic Leaders’ group have launched Race & the City 2, a free programme of events open to the public, to explore ideas and answers.

Race & the City 2 follows the previous Race & the City Conference held by Bristol City Council in late 2019. This year’s series of events is being run in collaboration between Bristol City Council and community groups throughout the city and beyond.

The events programme will run between September 2021 and March 2022. At these five themed events, Bristol City Council will facilitate discussion and engagement, as well as share key learnings and current and future priorities.

The Race & the City 2 events will be a mixture of webinars and in-person events starting in September with a focus on tackling race inequality in five key areas. During the programme, attendees will have the opportunity of hearing from and engaging with many leaders in each of the following areas:
