Small grants for vulnerable and disadvantaged people

15 June, 2022

Since 1999 the Leeds Building Society Foundation has donated more than £2,000,000 to 3,000 local projects and good causes across the UK, which support those who are disadvantaged or in vulnerable circumstances. The Foundation primarily provides funding towards practical items that directly support those in need including those with disabilities, affected by homelessness, or with serious health issues.

The Foundation receives funding from Leeds Building Society and from member donations via the ‘Your Interest in Theirs scheme’*. It is run independently by a board of six trustees who review applications every quarter. The next deadline will be 8th August.

Who can apply

From 1st January 2020, the Foundation will only accept applications from UK registered charities with a turnover of less than £1m.

Donations usually fund items of "capital expenditure". That means items must directly help those in need, rather than contributing to the charity's running costs.
