Active Citizens is a four day training course which has been developed by the British Council to support people take a more active role in their communities around the world. The course is delivered in Bristol by Up Our Street, a community organisation in Easton and Lawrence Hill which supports residents to make positive change in their neighbourhoods.
The course will be delivered on four consecutive Saturdays in early 2018. The course will cover: understanding identity and culture, using dialoge in the community, understanding power, and develop skills and confidence for community engagement and project delivery.
Participants will develop a social action project through the course, either in groups or working on their own idea.
The course is a great opportunity for anyone who has an idea or motivation to make positive change.
