A new community initiative has been launched that enables people to lend their cars to key workers and the voluntary sector during the COVID-19 crisis.

The initiative, known as Karshare, provides roadworthy, clean and insured vehicles that the voluntary sector can use free of charge to maintain essential services for the vulnerable.

Bristol’s VCSE organisations are playing an important role in the city’s response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and are working hard to maintain and adapt their services to meet communities’ needs. We had received feedback and some concerns about the challenges of bidding for contracts/grants while delivering services in increasingly complex situations and managing workforce challenges.

Like other cities, Bristol is experiencing an incredibly fast rise in the number of grass-roots groups emerging in response to the pandemic and its consequences. We’d like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone in all communities across Bristol for this amazing response.

This is a useful list of do's and don'ts for community groups and organisations working with volunteers to support the community during the coronavirus outbreak.

If there are any points in the guidelines that you need further information on, please contact Voscur on 0117 909 9949 or email info@voscur.org.
