Strategy and relationships

Leading the development of a new Bristol VCSE Strategy and Reviewing the Bristol Compact

Owned by the sector, co-designed and facilitated by Voscur, the development of a new strategy for Bristol’s VCSE sector will help us all focus on what we want the sector to be and how we want to work together and with others. The aim of the strategy is to clearly demonstrate our sector’s impact, potential and ability to meet the challenges ahead – to help citizens and communities survive and thrive.

Bristol’s VCSE sector, working with our public sector and business colleagues, needs to do things differently, with creativity and energy.  This new strategy will be ‘the voice of the sector’ and will establish a framework for VCSE organisations’ involvement in and contribution to the city and region over the coming years.  Our sector has come a very long way in recent years and shown tremendous flexibility and tenacity.  However, the challenges keep coming and we must ensure that Bristol’s VCSE sector as a whole is an effective, cohesive and impactful strategic and operational partner.

We are also working with others to review the Bristol Compact so that the sector’s future relationships are rooted in principles that will help us work effectively and deliver the strategy.

The new draft Bristol Compact is published for consultation until 22 March 2018, after which it will be finalised. Click below for the draft version and here for more information and to have your say now.
