Climate change is happening at a faster rate than we thought.

And it seems, much faster than we are acting on it.

Around the world we are already seeing drought, crop-failures, flooding and migration. Bristol itself is vulnerable to climate change. There is a real risk to our food systems, to our economy and of increasing extreme weather, and the poorest communities will be hit first.

Towards the end of 2015 we began a study of the green organisations working with volunteers in Bristol. We spoke with over 100 organisations, collected survey contributions from 62 of those and interviewed 14 of them.

This study aimed to collect and understand some of the challenges and successes of organisations working with volunteers and make sense of those, with the goal of sharing models for success with the community sector and the wider hope of generally improving the volunteer experience in the city.
