Supporting Voluntary and Community Action
We are working towards representing the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community in Bristol by consulting the community about what they want. Community development includes creating a network of LGBT organisations and working in partnership with LGBT organisations working with LGBT people. We also produce a newsletter with listings of the LGBT community, and lobby the council and work with them to promote LGBT equality.
Two of our current projects are: WalkOut Bristol, set up in conjunction with Walk for Health in order to provide an easily accessible exercise and social group for LGBT people. In conjunction with SARI, Mind, The Brandon Trust, LGBT Bristol we are also providing Bristol Hate Crime Services with a helpline (0800 1712272) and individual support available.
