Future of land at Elizabeth Shaw Chocolate Factory

Considers the possible disposal and lease of two plots of land on the Bristol and Bath Railway Path to the developer, Square Peg, who wish to incorporate the land into their development proposal for the Elizabeth Shaw chocolate factory in Easton. The consultation will inform the decision as to whether the council should sell and/or lease the land to Square Peg.

St Agnes Park and St Paul's Adventure Playground Improvements

A series of consultation activities to inform the design of improvements to St Agnes Park and St Paul's Adventure Playground. The project will also consider the design of the pedestrianised part of Thomas Street which lies between the two sites. The project is presently using a survey and community events to gather information on how people use the facilities, how satisfied they are with them and what ideas they have for their improvement. In January 2009 the project will consult on three different sketch plans. In April 2009 a single plan based on results of community consultation will be finalised and works will commence in September.

Proposed closure of care homes

Consultation will involve seeking the views and opinions of those who would be affected by the proposal to close care homes. Consultation will involve detailed assessment and risk assessments for all residents, as well as an assessment of the impact on relatives. The impact on staff and the potential for redeployment / relocation to other jobs is also an essential part of consultation.

Bristol's Sex Work Strategy 2008-2011

The Safer Bristol Partnership has developed Bristol's Joined Up Street Sex Work Strategy 2008-2011. Bristol's strategy takes a partnership approach to addressing the harms caused by street sex work. This strategy addresses the four key themes of The Home Office's Coordinated Prostitution Strategy: Prevention, Routes Out, Tackling Demand and Ensuring Justice. The consultation will invite views from interested parties and stakeholders who are concerned about the street sex market in Bristol.

Webcasting

The City Council is now webcasting a range of council meetings as part of a pilot project. Watch part of a webcast and help us evaluate the pilot and decide if we want to continue. Over 50 councils webcast in the UK and a growing number in the rest of Europe. It is hoped that webcasting will allow people to better understand the work of their council and councillors and get people more involved in local democracy. This objective is being evaluated in this consultation

Urban Design in Bristol

We were interested in a wide range of people's views about contemporary architecture in the city to inform future urban design and architectural advice we give.

Site Allocations - Call for Sites

Your opportunity to suggest sites for consideration for inclusion within the Site Allocations DPD. Sites do not need to be within your ownership and proposals for all types of potential development and land use including, residential, residential sites for gypsy and travellers and travelling showpeople, employment, retail, leisure, recreation and community (and other) uses will be considered, as will suggestions for mixed uses. Details are to be submitted on the Call for Sites proforma with a map. Suggested sites will be assessed and considered for inclusion in the Site Allocations DPD document.

Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment 2008

Seven week period of consultation with specific stakeholders on the deliverability and developability of housing sites contained within the Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA) Stakeholder Technical Assessment (STA). The SHLAA STA seeks views from a range of organisations on the deliverability and developability of a number of sites in Bristol which are considered to have potential for housing development before 2026. The stakeholders consulted are considered to be able to provide technical expertise on the deliverability and developability of housing sites within Bristol.

Phase 3 Children's Centre Strategy

Strategy to set out how the Local Authority will comply with Sure Start Guidance on the development of Phase 3 Children's Centres, ensuring that we have full coverage across Bristol by 31/03/11. The strategy reduces the number of Children's Centres from a previously planned 35 to 31 bringing us in line with the recommended numbers for Bristol. This should increase levels of funding for all centres.
