Collage of pictures for 'a day in the life of Bristol VCSES'

"A Day in the Life ... !"

We're making a collage, slideshow, posters & videos - make sure you're included. As part of 20:20 week Voscur will be showcasing the fantastic work done by the diverse and active voluntary community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector in Bristol. We’re asking you to help us take a (literal) snapshot of the Voluntary Sector on one ordinary working day and night in March. The results will create a vibrant colourful mosaic map representing our sector and all the ways it contributes to Bristol.

Voscur is supporting Bristol 20:20 week

To mark the launch of the 20:20 plan - the Bristol Partnership vision for Bristol, Voscur is involved with a number of events during 20:20 week 20 - 28 March connected to the 20:20 plan. Each of these events is designed to reflect a different aspect of the plan, give people across the city a chance to think through what it means for them and the contribution they can make to the city's journey in the coming decade.

Click here for a full list of events (pdf) or click here to see the full list of events on the Bristol Partnership website.

Saturday 27 March - Neighbourhood Partnership Residents Forum
The meeting theme is 'Strengthening Neighbourhoods' and will be a chance to Reflect on the first round of 'new style. Neighbourhood Partnership meetings, discus what worked well, not so well and consider ways to improve future meetings.

Voscur has helped to arrange for Bristol's leaders to shadow voluntary community sector organisations in Bristol to see what statutory partners can learn from - look out for reports on how partners and VCS organisations got on during April.

Bristol Partnership Third Sector Strategy

Bristol Partnership has written a draft third sector strategy which will lead to an action plan to support Bristol's third sector. The Strategy has been developed to set out clearly and positively how the public, private and third sectors will work together in Bristol to promote a thriving third sector for the benefit of Bristol's communities.  Please have a look at the strategy here and tell us what you think about it by clicking here to complet a short questionnaire.

Influence and improve commissioning practice

Are you a voluntary, community or social enterprise organisation based in Bristol that has successfully bid to deliver public services? OR an organisation that has bid but been unsuccessful, OR has considered bidding, but has been put off - perhaps the work involved was too much? Have you worked with others to submit a bid?

Bristol City Council's Select Committee on Third Sector Commissioning wants to know about your experience of commissioning in Bristol so that your stories can be used to improve practice in future.
Please  click here to complete a short survey.
