Barton Hill Settlement

Barton Hill Settlement always buzzes with activity and is deservedly an extremely well used community centre.  I have used the centre on numerous occasions for meetings and events - it  has light, airy, well equipped rooms that are fully accessible and suitable for any type of meeting.  The views from its Terrace Room are wonderful.  The reception staff are incredibly helpful - going out of their way to help you when you make your booking and then ensuring you have everything you need on the day.  There is also an affordable, good quality catering service on site.  Barton Hill Settlement is a fantastic venue.

St Werburghs Community Centre

St Werburghs is a fantastic and thriving community hub that deserves recognition for being one of the best and well used facilities of its kind in Bristol; and is continually striving to be better and more accessible to everybody regardless of their needs. Amongst other free/subsidised courses, this year their popular Raking & Baking project offered absolutely free cooking and gardening courses to local residents and has received nothing but resoundingly positive feedback. Their free Picnic in the Park event this year once again drew a crowd of over 1000 people of all ages and backgrounds, demonstrating the love there is for the Centre in St Werburghs.

Zion Community Art Space

Zion provides a valuable service to the community running events for all ages from science shows for young children, a space for breast feeding mothers to meet, for neighbourhood partnership meetings, a friendly cafe and Deil with discounts for older people, quiz nights, exhibitions for local upcoming artists, bringing theatre into the neighbourhood and even karaoke.

My husband and I moved to Bedminster Down just after Zion opened. It has been invaluable to us in helping us to settle in to our local community. We have met such a broad range of people at a wide range of events. Jess does a fantastic job of creating a hub for the Bedminster Down community. We don't know how we would have met any of our locals without Zion.
There are no spaces for us in Bedminster Down to attend events or get a friendly cup of tea apart from Zion. The wide range of events listed above demonstrate that Zion caters for all.
