OTR are excited to announce that we are looking for two qualified Education Mental Health Practitioners to join our existing teams in North Somerset and East/Central Bristol.

The post-holders will be part of the Mental Health Schools Team (MHST). This programme, delivered in partnership with Avon Wiltshire Partnership Trust (AWP), is part of a national initiative within the Children and Young People’ Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme (CYP IAPT) to place Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHP’s) in schools.

This is a varied role where practitioners hold a 50/50 workload between working closely with professionals, children and young people, families and the wider school community to deliver engaging Whole School Approach (WSA) activites, and a supervised clinical caseload to deliver high-quality; outcome-informed, evidence-based interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate anxiety, low mood and behavioral difficulties.

Ongoing CPD and service experience will equip post holders with the necessary knowledge, attitude and capabilities to ensure that children and young people will have access to high quality, evidence based mental health support and to influence the whole school culture in relation to mental health and wellbeing.

This role is open to qualified EMHPs who have successfully completed the commissioned one year Education Mental Health Practitioner course.
