Learning and evaluation findings from the Bristol Ageing Better programme (2015-2020), and implications for the future.

About this Event

Bristol’s neighbourhoods have many resources and people with skills and ideas. Taking an assets-based point of view, Bristol Ageing Better projects have sought to build upon the opportunities existing in communities. Compared to the mainstream service focus on needs and deficits, this is a different way of engaging communities.

In this event, we report on the evaluation of a range of BAB projects that have tested out assets-based approaches working with older people. We discuss the challenges alongside the learning and the implications for promoting community wellbeing in the city.

This is part of a series of three online events in which UWE Bristol will be sharing the findings from their evaluation of the Bristol Ageing Better programme:

8th October: Addressing loneliness and isolation amongst older people in Bristol

15th October: Older people as active citizens: changing the way Bristol works

22nd October: Age-friendly places: building upon and nurturing community assets

You do not need a camera or microphone in order to attend these online events. Joining details will be circulated a few days before the event to those who have registered for a free ticket via Eventbrite.

These events will be recorded and made available on the Bristol Ageing Better website afterwards.
