The Co-chairs of Bristol’s Health and Wellbeing Board would like to invite you to a stakeholder event on Tuesday 2nd February, 10am – 12pm to find out about decision making in the health and care system and contribute to the city’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

You will hear about the role and function of the Health and Wellbeing Board, our current health priorities, and opportunities to participate in decision making in the health and care system in Bristol. We also want to find out from you how we can increase stakeholder engagement with the Board.

Following an update on the current COVID-19 situation in the city, we will focus on how to maximise the vaccine uptake and respond to the mental health impact of the pandemic on our local population. As well as providing you with information, we would like your input on ensuring we reach all parts of the city, especially those communities most impacted.

What is the Health and Wellbeing Board?

Bristol’s Health and Wellbeing Board is chaired by Councillor Helen Holland (Cabinet Member with responsibility for Adult Social Care) and Dr Alison Bolam (GP and Clinical Commissioning Group). It provides a forum in which health and care leaders can work together to improve health and reduce inequalities in the city. It consists of elected members and leaders from the NHS, social care, public health and the voluntary and community sector. Through the One City approach, the Board also works with wider stakeholders to address the ‘social determinants of health’; the conditions in which people are born, grow, live, work and age.
