Join us at the next Children and Young People’s Network event to connect, learn, and grow together!

The Children and Young Peopl'es Network is open to anyone who has an interest in Children and Young people in the city. It is designed to support people working together to meet the needs of children and young people in Bristol.

The event will start at 10am, however. there will be tea, coffee and refreshments available from 9.45am for a prompt start at 10am.

Parking at Trinity

There are four accessible parking bays located next to the daytime entrance, which are situated on the left-hand side of the building.

Please note their Car Park in managed by Car Flow and an ANPR system and charges apply for all people parking at Trinity, including Blue Badge holders.

There is a 10-minute grace-period for drop-off /pick-up access.

There is free on street parking available for Blue Badge Holders within a 50yd radius of Trinity including areas of Stapleton Road and Old Market.

How are the kids doing? Mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in England. – Professor Helen Dodd

Helen Dodd is a Professor of Child Psychology at the University of Exeter Medical School. She is an expert in child mental health. She has received awards for her research, most recently from the British Psychology Society for her outstanding contribution to developmental psychology. Helen’s research focuses on why children develop mental health problems, particularly anxiety, and the relationship between children's play and mental health.

In this presentation Helen will outline the latest statistics regarding mental health of children and young people in England and explore how children’s mental health has changed over time. She will explore some of the potential reasons for this change and outline the role that play, and independence have in supporting good wellbeing and mental health in children and young people.

Social Prescribing- How this supports children and young people's mental health - Southmead Development Trust

Southmead Development Trust are a charity made up of staff, volunteers and residents who work together to help to release power in our community. By working alongside residents in North Bristol their expert teams support communities to be strong, vibrant, and resourceful through building health, wellbeing, learning, employment and pride of place.

In this presentation the team at Southmead Development trust will discuss the impact their Social Prescribing service has on the children and young people they support evidencing how direct community work at the heart of our communities can have an impact on children and young people’s mental health. Demonstrating the power of direct face to face work.
