Cycle Maintenance for young people – 1 day beginner’s course

The perfect way for young people aged 16 – 19 to fill those long summer holidays and build a strong foundation in cycle mechanics.

Our fun, 1 day course focuses on doing, rather than watching: With the help of our experienced, City & Guilds-qualified mechanic, young attendees will gain lifelong skills and be able to keep their bike running smoothly all year round.

Course details:
Trainees learn how to:

  • Learn and name the parts of a bike
  • Adjust saddle height correctly
  • Repair punctures/change an inner tube
  • Adjust their brakes and make simple fixes
  • Learn how to tune gears
  • Understand when to get a fully qualified mechanic to fix their bike.

The session will take place inside our professional bike workshop

Tools, aprons and bikes provided by Life Cycle UK. Each trainee will receive a FREE puncture repair kit.
