Introduction

The Global Shapers Community is a network created by the World Economic Forum to connect young community leaders (20-29 years old) as a force for improving communities around the world. On the 18th April 2019, the World Economic Forum accepted a proposal from our Founding Curator, Poku Osei, to set up a Global Shapers Hub in Bristol. There are currently over 400 city hubs across the globe, with over 9,000 young people registered as members of the GS Community. The community’s focused impact areas are Employment & Education, Equity & Inclusion and Climate Change.

The GS Bristol Hub's initial focus is identifying the best way to promote opportunities to youth in order to help reduce Bristol's inequality through different projects in collaboration with local organisations such as Babbasa. We will be sharing more information about our projects during the session.

Purpose of this Briefing Session
To get to know anyone who is interested in learning more about the GS Bristol Hub and answer any questions. If you have any ideas or proposals related to the three impact areas, please share it with us, as we are willing to support our members in implementing them or scaling them up with the network and funds we have access to.
