Line Management Training

Date/Time:
Tuesday, 14 March, 2023 - 09:30 to 14:30
Location:
Online/Remote
Cost:
£75 - £150
Organised/hosted by:
Student Hubs

This session is aimed at staff in the third sector or who work for a small business, with no or limited experience in line management. Recognising that accessibility and cost can often be a barrier to individuals wanting to access this type of training, we have reduced our regular training prices, and chosen to supplement the cost particularly for participants who work for charities.

We expect attendees to this session to:

  • Understand the responsibilities involved in line management
  • Understand and apply different leadership styles
  • Understand and apply different motivational and coaching techniques
  • Explore your feelings and approach to feedback

Attendees to this session will:

  • Be able to continuously reflect on their line management skills
  • Be able to carry out all requirements of them as line managers, adequately supporting their reports
  • Feel more comfortable being a line manager and how this sits with their other responsibilities

Agenda for this session will be confirmed in early March, and this session will include a lunch break in the middle of the session.

Student Hubs is a national charity that works in partnership with universities to deliver social action activities which support students to engage with social and environmental challenges. Training is a key part of our offer for university partners, supporting students to develop the knowledge, skills and leadership experiences which enable them to thrive and engage with social issues at their university in a meaningful way. Supporting early success in the workplace is part of our mission to support active citizenship for life, and this is an area of training we continue to deliver and develop alongside our work with universities and community organisations.

As an organisation, we have a long history of recruiting, inducting and training new starters, recent graduates and professionals making their first steps into the social impact sector, and are proud to be on the Escape 100 list for the second year in a row in recognition of our innovative culture and staff support. Student Hubs also was affiliated with and delivered the social impact graduate scheme, Worthwhile for several years, supporting recent graduates to enter the social impact sector through targeted recruitment and a graduate training scheme.

This session will be delivered by Student Hubs' CEO, Simran Dhanjal-Field.
