ARE YOU LIVING WITH LONG COVID?

Would you like to help develop support for people in the same situation?

The Peer Partnership is designing a peer support service for people like you living with long covid in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire, and we want to start the process by speaking to the people actually affected by the condition. In Bristol there have been over 30,000 confirmed coronavirus infections since March 2020. With long covid being experienced in 20% of cases, this means that Bristol has over 6,000 people experiencing longer term covid symptoms. People with long covid experience excessive fatigue, “brain fog“, breathlessness, anxiety and muscle aches.

With such a large number of people experiencing issues around health and wellbeing with the condition, more methods of support need to be developed. People living with long covid need opportunities to improve knowledge, confidence and ability to self-manage while ongoing research seeks to provide treatment and care options. We believe that peer support, and the sharing of experiences, strategies and coping methods, can be an important part of providing effective and meaningful person-centred support. Our focus group will ask you about what you’re going through, what you want, and how it can best be provided through peer support.

If you are:

  • Still experiencing covid related symptoms 12 weeks after diagnosis
  • Living in Bristol, North Somerset or South Gloucestershire
  • Available to join an online Zoom session from 18:00-19:30 on Tuesday, 27th July

We would like you to join us to share your experience, views and opinions on our peer support service. Your comments will help us shape support services that people living with long covid will want.

On registration you will be asked to complete demographic information which allows us to make sure that we get the widest possible points of view. We will be selecting attendees to ensure representation, different points of views and experience.

You will receive a £10.00 gratuity for your attendance following the completion of a feedback form following the session.

All of your data will remain confidential, following GDPR guidelines. For more information on data confidentiality, please see the GDPR guidelines outlined here.
