Many people go through some terribly difficult times when they lose somebody close to them. Some people find it difficult to express how they feel, some are unable to talk about things, some are unsure how to cope through transitions in their life, some feel terribly lonely and isolated.

We are all unique individuals and there is no right or wrong way of dealing with the way we grieve. If we can connect with others that have also experienced loss, if we know that they understand the way that we may be feeling, if they are non-judgemental and a good listener, this could be an absolute blessing and can make the world of difference to help us through a difficult time of change.   If this resonates with you, and you are available to give a little of your time every month to help, we would love to hear from you.

In Avonmouth, Hotwells, Clifton, Southmead, Henleaze, Keynsham, Lockleaze, Eastville, Fishponds, St Annes, Brislington, Stockwood, Whitchurch, Bedminster, Barton Hill, Shirehampton, and Knowle there are people who are in the early stages of setting up a STAR Bereavement Peer Support Group and they would welcome you to join their team of helpers.  If you are a good listener, non-judgemental, have empathy, can make a lovely cuppa, enjoy being part of a team them please contact clairechivers@ageukbristol.org.uk  for more information.  This is such a rewarding opportunity to play a part in making a positive difference to help somebody though a challenging time in their life.
