The Sense Buddying programme is aimed towards adults who have a learning disability and are looking to move towards an independent life and to access their local community.

In return for signing up, we will work with individuals to identify the right buddy that could support them to do a specific task or activity for 2 hours a week. This could be as simple as gaining confidence to use a particular bus route or building relationships at a social group.

We will work with them to decide the best use of the time in a person-centred way so it is led by the individual to accomplish their wishes and expectations.

Sense are holding an open evening to introduce people to our new Buddying Programme. Whether you are interested in becoming a volunteer or think the service might be something you are interested in using, we will be on hand to answer all of your questions.

The Open Evening will be held at the Sense Family Centre Woodside, Kingswood Foundation Estate, Britannia Road, Kingswood, Bristol BS15 8DB
