Domestic Abuse in the Workplace

This half day free training course has been developed by Women’s Aid working in partnership with Bristol City Council, Pubic Health and Bristol Zero Tolerance.

The in-depth training follows on from any initial and introductory training sessions for businesses and is aimed at Workplace Champions to further raise awareness of domestic abuse and workplace issues, thus offering those who experience domestic abuse at home, a safer, more supportive and better response in their workplace.

Those who register will be offered free staff training, access to a toolkit and draft workplace template policies and procedures.

The training will be delivered by an expert in the field and is aimed at businesses to enable them to help and support any employees experiencing domestic abuse at home in a safe and effective way. 

The training will give further knowledge of the effects of domestic abuse on victims and how that can impact on their work. 

It will also give guidance on developing appropriate policies and procedures and implementing them effectively. 

This training is aimed at:

·         Line Managers

·         Human Resources staff

·         Employee Assistance Programmes

·         Union representatives

·         Anyone who has an interest in being a first point of contact for support in the workplace and is identified as a Workplace Champion.
