Grants for music-making for young people

16 April, 2019

Not-for-profit organisations can apply for grants to fund developmental music-making projects for children and young people in challenging circumstances as well as for projects that support the development of the workforce, organisations and the wider music making sector.

Funding is being made available through Youth Music. The programme includes three separate funds:

  • Fund A offers small grants (£2,000 to £30,000) for high quality music-making projects
  • Fund B offers medium-sized grants (30,001 - £150,000 per year for up to two years) for larger programmes of work
  • Fund C offers grants (£50,000 to £180,000) for strategic programmes to help embed sustainable, inclusive music-making across a local area.

In applying for funding schools will have to justify how the activities to be funded do not duplicate Department of Education funding. The closing dates for applications to Fund A is 5pm on 2 August 2019 and Fund B 17 May 2019.
