To faciliate the work of helping adults who come for help with their reading (the 'readers'), the coaches and readers need to have a suitable place to meet. This needs to be in a public space with a quiet recess. Libraries are most often used for this purpose, as are some community centres.
Responsibilities of the Venue Organiser
To find organisations willing to offer a room or suitable space on a regular basis.
To visit the premises, meet an appropriate member of staff to check that the premises are suitable, and complete a Venue Agreement.
To report on venues to the Management Team and gain their approval.
Confirm the arrangements in writing with the venue provider.
Keep an up to date record of venues and regularly review arrangements.
Support the team in finding venues for events such as training days, coach meeting etc.
