The Higher Needs Floating Support Service is a newly commissioned service working with people in temporary accommodation or at risk of homelessness across a variety of settings. The team work closely with the local authority, health, treatment and specialist support providers to improve outcomes and work towards more settled accommodation for those facing multiple disadvantage
As a Floating Support Worker within the Higher Needs Floating Support Service, you will;
Work to make current accommodation sustainable, work local authority to identify new or more appropriate accommodation, and work in a motivational and psychologically informed way.
Work to engage and support clients with complex needs and/ or facing multiple disadvantage to maximise their choice and control over the support they receive by developing a network of support.
Work with landlords, support agencies, family, friends and others to create a comprehensive network of support that remains beyond the end of support provisions.
You will;
Be experienced in supporting people facing multiple disadvantage.
Have some experience in improving housing outcomes for people who have been homeless.
Be great at building trust with those you work with
Have compassion, empathy and passion for supporting others
Be IT literate and be able to record and report information
Have confidence lone working in the community.
Have the ability to travel across Bristol

I work with between 12 and 15 people across the city, all different but all have been homeless and all are working towards more settled accommodation. The work I do varies, from practical support and a listening ear to connecting people with other services, helping to iron out problems with landlords. every day is different! I Love working in this team, Im supported to manage my own workload, there are spaces to connect and reflect regularly with the team, and I also feel able to bring a lot of myself and my own skills to the role.
