Job Summary: We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Tutor Mentor to join our team. This role involves providing one-on-one or group tutoring to students. This is providing specialised support, guidance, academic tutoring and mentoring to all students, including those with SEND. In addition to tutoring, you may be given additional tasks, such as administrative work, interviewing, or leafleting, to top up your weekly hours. This is a part-time position.

About Us: We work with students of all ages both young people and adults. As partners with Bristol City and Gloucestershire County Councils, we specialise in providing tailored support to students, including those with SEND such as Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Autism, ADHD, and developmental delays.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide high-quality mentoring and tutoring services to students.

2. Customise lesson plans and teaching materials to meet individual student needs.

3. Work alongside EHCP and SEND Learning Plans to achieve targets set by LAs such as emotional and social well-being.

3. Maintain a positive and engaging environment.

4. Prepare and deliver effective sessions to help students achieve their goals.

5. Communicate with students and parents to assess progress and address concerns by advising and coaching towards development.

6. Manage scheduling and travel to various locations for in-person tuition.

7. Perform additional tasks as assigned, which may include administrative work, interviewing, or leafleting.

8. Collaborate with the team to enhance the overall quality of our education services.

9. Commit to training to upskill in further subjects or SEND.

Qualifications and Traits:

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (or equivalent experience).

- Proven experience as a mentor, tutor, teacher or educator.

- Strong knowledge and expertise in SEND.

- Subject knowledge in multiple subjects, as you will be expected to tutor across various disciplines.

- Ability to work with students of all ages and diverse needs.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and adapt to students' learning styles..

- Flexibility in taking on mentoring jobs in locations all around Bristol and the surrounding areas, as deemed appropriate by the office team, allowing for travel time.

- Ability to deal with challenges which may come your way, as you will be dealing with young people who may react in unpredictable ways.

- Adaptability to the needs of the business, both in terms of students to take on, and in terms of extra tasks which may be given to support the office team.

Hours: 20 hours or more, with possibility for overtime
