Unseen is a charity, based in Bristol. We focus on three main areas as we work towards a world without slavery;
Supporting survivors and potential victims of slavery; by providing access to a range of specialist services, enabling them to safely recover and develop resilient independent lives
Equipping stakeholders; by providing training, advice and resources to facilitate the identification and support of potential victims of slavery
Influencing systemic changes; by using our experience and research to impact and inspire transformation across legislation, policy and society.
We are recruiting for two Trainee Support Workers to join our Resettlement, Integration and Outreach team. This traineeship has been designed to provide candidates with limited work experience an opportunity to develop their skills in a supporting role. Sector specific training will be provided, and the successful candidates will gain experience to equip them to support people with complex needs.
To ensure that the needs of our survivors are reflected in everything we do, we encourage applications from candidates with lived experience of human trafficking, modern slavery or of the asylum system.
No previous workplace experience is required but an interest in helping people and social justice is essential. You will also be committed to learning and development, both in the workplace and an educational setting. The completion of a Level 1 BTEC in Health and Social Care, which will be funded by Unseen, is a requirement of this role.
The traineeship will include in-house training and opportunities to shadow colleagues across the organisation. As you progress, you will develop skills and knowledge to support survivors in the community, promoting feelings of safety, hope and choice while supporting them to achieve goals detailed on their individually tailored support plans.
You will be joining a small, friendly and motivated team who are committed to supporting survivors.
This role will be subject to satisfactory references, an enhanced DBS check and completion of a probationary period.
The deadline for applications is 22nd April 2019 at 17:00.
Interviews will take place on 1st and 2nd May 2019.
The application form and equal opportunities form can be downloaded on the Unseen website: https://www.unseenuk.org/jobs. Once completed, please return all forms to firstname.lastname@example.org. CV’s are not accepted.
