Grants to empower children and young people

21 March, 2022

A new £3 million fund has been launched to support youth-led social action projects across the UK. Not-for-profit organisations registered with an appropriate governing body can apply for grants of up to £50,000, and unregistered organisations can apply for grants of up to £15,000 for projects (lasting up to 18 months) which build children and young people’s confidence and skills, and empower them to take an active and leading role in developing solutions to issues which affect their lives and their communities.

The funding is being made available through the BBC Children in Need Youth Social Action Fund, in partnership with the #iwill Fund and the Hunter Foundation. All applicants must to sign up to an information session by the 8th April 2022 before they can apply in full.

Grants will be awarded in August 2022. Delivery must be completed by the middle of March 2024.

BBC Children in Need will also be launching the We Move Youth Social Action Fund in the next few months. The We Move Youth Social Action Fund is aimed specifically at Black led organisations and organisations that work with Black children and young people.
