Would you like to be a Non-Executive Director - helping to scale up a leading edge, community-led organisation that makes low-carbon life possible at low cost? Working with trusted local community organisations, we have developed over seven years the highly successful C.H.E.E.S.E. Project CIC (Cold Homes Energy Efficiency Survey Experts), that uses a unique thermal survey system, enhanced by pressure reduction, to reveal energy loss from homes. We combat climate disruption and fuel poverty, using our own internal Heatview® survey protocol, Heatview® software and camera equipment, and a sophisticated bespoke booking and management system. First Thermal Ltd has been set up to socially franchise CHEESE to replicate the Project, developed in Bristol, throughout the UK. We have surveyed over 500 homes to date and have won 4 awards including the industry-leading Big Pitch Award for Innovation at Futurebuild 2020. We are now engaging our first pilot franchisees with whom to replicate our business UK-wide. We are fortunate to have received a substantial grant from Energy for Tomorrow to fund this expansion until December 2023 and are on target to pay our way thereafter. Our expert team are really excited about what the future holds. We are looking for voluntary Non-Executive Directors to join either the First Thermal Ltd or CHEESE CIC boards. Being a Non-Exec Director means you will play an important role in helping shape either of our organisations as they grow, combating climate disruption and fuel poverty in Bristol and Bath with CHEESE CIC and the UK with First Thermal Ltd. Overall, both companies anticipate a time commitment of no more than 15 days per year, including attendance at monthly Board meetings, annual strategy meetings, the AGM, and member events depending on schedules. There is a particular need for anyone with experience with business/commercial, financial/accounting, building science/research-led, and marketing expertise, but all backgrounds are welcome!
