FACE is a thriving youth and community charity based in Filton, but working across South Gloucestershire and Bristol areas. The charity is building on the legacy of the St Andrews Methodist Youth Centre which existed in this place from 1967. FACE itself sees its 10th anniversary since charity registration in May 2024. 

Our Chair of trustees stepped down after 12 years service in August 2022 and although we have an interim chair who is doing a fab job, she is keen to step down again by the next AGM in July 2023, if we can find the right person to lead us into the future! (She is keen to stay as a trustee but not being chair!)

We are seeking an experienced chairperson who can help us as we continue to develop and better sustain our charity which has expanded so much in the last few years as our great work has been noticed and valued by the communities in which we work. Experience in managing and leading a youth - or community - focused organisation would be a bonus, but not essential. An understanding of the impact of youth work on young people and on communities is essential, as this is the core ethos underpinning our work.

The trustees meet at least quarterly (on a Wednesday evening currently) with working groups and leadership team meetings often between these at roughly monthly intervals. The whole FACE team (staff, volunteers and trustees) meets annually for a training day together in May or June, and has an annual social event the first Saturday in January. Our AGM this year is on Wednesday 5th July.
