Second Step is a leading mental health charity in the South West offering housing, support and hope to thousands of people with mental health and other problems.  Our goal is to inspire hope and deliver change for everybody and every community we work with.           

 

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager to lead Second Step’s Supported Accommodation Services. Second Step provides a variety of accommodation-based services as part of the Bristol City Council Commissioned Pathways, as well as multiple other housing related services. Currently accommodation-based services are based in Bristol, however, Second Step has services throughout the South West. 

 

You’ll have knowledge of the support needs of people with mental health difficulties and experience of delivering significant change within services. You’ll work in a value-based, person focused way and be able to develop and manage relationships with key partners. Having a background in supported housing, or a related field you will develop a strong performance culture, within the context of psychological, adversity and trauma informed environments.

The Role

 

The successful candidate will lead services to achieve KPI’s and individual outcomes for service users, as well as ensure compliance with internal performance measures. With a particular focus on service user involvement you will lead on the continuous enhancement of services and quality assurance processes. The role will support the Senior Operations Manager prepare for recommissioning of key services.

 

The Person

 

Whilst experience and specific skills are crucial for this role (please refer to essential criteria within the role profile for specific information) we are looking for a candidate with a passion for working with excluded groups, for leading quality services and ensuring services and the workplace are psychologically, adversity and trauma informed. Management experience is essential, but we are looking for a natural leader who can bring about sustainable change.

 

You will be required to travel across the city of Bristol to various accommodation-based settings and to external meetings.

The ability to travel to several appointments daily (including in rural areas with limited/ unreliable public transport) is essential
