Sport England has widened its Small Grants programme to provide support for projects that deliver environmental benefits for local communities. The programme will not only provide funding to encourage greater participation in sport and physical activity, but it will also award grants of up to £15,000 for projects that benefit the environment. This could include purchasing locally made equipment, using local community assets to minimise travel, energy meters to help reduce energy usage, or recycling or re-using sports equipment to reduce and eliminate waste. Eligible organisation that can apply include voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations, schools and local authorities The closing date for applications is the 30th June 2023.
