Cost:

Organised/hosted by:
Catherine Smart, Public Health, Bristol City Council

When bowel cancer is diagnosed at its earliest stage (with the help of screening) more than 9 in 10 will survive their bowel cancer for 5 years or more. When bowel cancer is diagnosed at a later stage, less than 1 in 10 will survive five years or more, (CRUK). Screening rates for bowel cancer in Bristol are lower than the national average with a significantly lower uptake in parts of Inner City and East and South Bristol and we would like you to help increase uptake in Bristol by coming along to our training and taking the message out to your groups. We will also be looking at how lifestyles can increase our risk of cancer and what you can do to improve your lifestyle and minimise the risks. The training will provide you with the opportunity to discuss how you as Champions can help increase screening rates, early diagnosis and awareness of healthy lifestyles with your clients/friends/family.
