Hosted by Imogen Thomas and Dr Jelena Nolan-Roll of Sister Courage, BWV are hosting an awareness workshop concentrating on body language and verbal behaviours that can be used to predict the potential for harm to women.

‘Predicting the Threat of Violence – A women’s conversation’ - A workshop hosted by BWV and presented by Sister Courage

The conversation is designed to support women to decode misogynistic behaviours and use them to predict the possible threat of violence.

Imogen Thomas says  ‘Having worked in self-defence and martial arts for twenty-five years I’m a fierce advocate of the importance of early recognition of embedded misogynistic attitudes”

Workshop breakdown

We will identify behaviours that can be reliably defined as coming from a background of misogynistic thought and socialization. We will break them down into roughly four overlapping areas of concern.

1.      Entitlement

2.      Power and control

3.      Hostility and Anger

4.      Acceptance of Interpersonal Violence
