There are a number of different structures available for voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations to use. This table (see attachment below) provides a useful summary of these legal structures and how they are governed and regulated which should help you choose the most appropriate one for your group.
If you want to start running a small group, or move your current informal group on to becoming more organised, you’ll need a constitution that sets out how you will work. This template will give you a basic set of rules for how you run decision-making, membership and finance. Once you’ve used it to produce your constitution you will then be eligible to apply for grants from some funders.
