Meningitis Research Foundation is a leading meningitis charity based in Bristol, with offices in Belfast, Dublin and Edinburgh.
The charity was set up in May 1989 to focus on research as a means of eradicating meningitis and septicaemia, through prevention, detection and treatment.
Our founders recognised that until research finds the key to prevent the diseases completely, there is a vital need for the public and health professionals to have information about the symptoms and what to do when dealing with meningitis and septicaemia. That's why the charity has an information and education programme. For some people, information about the diseases comes too late, so we offer befriending and support to those individuals and families affected.
