Somali Education Development South of Bristol (SEDSOB)

SEDSOB is a developing organisation run by an active group of volunteers from the relatively new and growing Somali community in Bristol. SEDSOB was founded in January 2007 to increase the capacity of Somali men and women to influence their community and enhance their opportunities for employment.

SEDSOB runs a 75 place supplementary school and provides further educational/ employment support services to over 40 adult learners and parental support to approximately 150 parents/ guardians.

We regularly run events for parents and our young people to celebrate key festivals, key achievements and to provide all involved with information about education in the UK and many other matters.

We currently provide the following after school teaching and adult education services:-

English – for adults and children

Maths - for adults and children

Science – for children

Islamic Studies and Citizenship - for adults and children

Culture and Islam - for adults and children

Somali Language - for adults and children
