WE OPERATE AND MAINTAIN THE UNDERFALL BOAT YARD AND PATENT SLIPWAY. THE YARD IS A SCHEDULED ANCIENT MONUMENT. BUILDINGS ARE LET OUT TO MARITIME BUSINESSES TO KEEP THOSE SKILLS ALIVE IN BRISTOL, AND TO ENCOURAGE SMALL AND START UP ENTERPRISES. ALL OF OUR SURPLUS FUNDS ARE USED TO MAINTAIN THE BUILDINGS.

University Hospitals Bristol provides healthcare to the local community and specialist services to the South West region
We have various departments at UBU which run services and activities for students - advice, representation, democracy, sports, student development, societies and students can get involved in volunteering and fundraising for the local community. We have a Board of Trustees and run training and development for all our staff and students. We have projects which provide students with the opportunity to get involved in their local communities.
We organise three ten-week terms of activities - discussions, slide shows, talks, conversational French, poetry appreciation, music, drama, and anything in fact that will generate talking, and also in the summer, walking - both activities sadly neglected in modern society.
