Please join us to share your opinions and experience about how data can help your organisation deliver services to your clients and what you would like to see in the future to make your jobs easier in using and interpreting data.

Background:

Open Data Institute Bristol and Voscur have joined forces to see how we can support the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) across Bristol access and use public data and information in simpler ways to help organisations across a range of areas, including:

  • Understanding the socio-economic make up of communities
  • In depth understanding of community needs
  • Analyse where other VCS organisations are working and what clients they are working with
  • Understand which funders are operating in which communities

Data highlighting these areas and much more is generated and made publicly available by Central and Local Government, research bodies, Charity Commission, funders and other VCS organisations. All this data presents a huge opportunity to understand and visualise a rich picture of the communities we work in.

The Challenge:

As under-resourced organisations, it is increasingly hard to access and analyse all the data and information across the city that can help improve our work and access the resources needed to continue our work.

How can this workshop help:

An opportunity to come together with other organisation from across the VCS and data world in Bristol to share ideas, learn each other needs and plan a way forward that will mean data and information can be more effectively used within the voluntary sector.
