Details of Role:

Milestones Trust is a health and social care charity supporting people with learning disabilities, mental health needs and dementia. The Trust provides residential, nursing and community support services to around 750 people living in the Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset areas.

A man that we support in one of our homes in the Henleaze area is looking for a volunteer to help access the community and visit places such as the theatre to see pantomimes, the Concorde museum, cinema and local shops/cafés. The individual also likes to bake and cook at home, as well as play draughts.

Can you help?

We are looking for volunteers who are compassionate and patient with good social skills and who share similar interests as the person we support. Ideally this would be a weekly or fortnightly volunteer role, or as often as volunteers are able to commit. We provide a thorough induction, and support to volunteers throughout their role, however, a knowledge of autism would be advantageous.

We can cover travel and some activity expenses.

Please note, for all of our volunteer roles a DBS check will be carried out and references will be taken up. All volunteers have a volunteer induction before starting the role and will be supported by both the volunteer team and a member of staff in the service too.

Please get in touch if you are interested in applying or would like further information on the role, we would love to hear from you.
