We have a rewarding opportunity available for a Female Counsellor to join our team based across Bristol. You will join us on either a part time or full time, permanent basis, working either 22.5 or 37.5 hours per week. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £30,151 per annum (pro rata for part-time) plus benefits.

About the role:

We are looking for part time and full time counsellors to join us and work within a dynamic and trauma informed specialist organisation. You will deliver high quality one to one counselling to women survivors of domestic abuse, who are accessing one of our accommodation or community services in Next link Plus.

Key duties and responsibilities

• Managing a caseload of clients, from referral, and provide short or long term counselling as required.
• Undertake rigorous assessments and liaise with the clients support worker or IDVA
• Promote the service through building positive relationships with Survivors, internal and external partners.
• Ensure effective access to the service for survivors and encourage their engagement with the service.
• To formulate, plan and monitor effective counselling plans with clients.

The successful candidate will:

• Have a recognised qualification in counselling (a minimum diploma level)
• Experience of at least one year of working with survivors of domestic or sexual abuse or vulnerable people.
• Current BACP or UKCP membership and to work within the BACP ethical Framework Experience working with multi agency partners e.g. The Police, Social Services
and MARAC.
• Experience of conducting risk and needs assessments
• Have in depth knowledge of the issues affecting survivors of domestic abuse
• Have a strong commitment to anti oppressive inclusive practice
• Ability to apply trauma informed practice
• Have experience of working in a multi-agency setting.
