SEND and You are recruiting for an Area Practitioner for the South Gloucestershire area to join our team. If you have knowledge, interest in or experience of Special Educational Needs or Disability (SEND) and can work effectively with children, young people and families, as well as other professionals - we’d like to hear from you!

This role involves face-to-face meetings, running drop-in and small group information sessions, and targeted outreach activities within identified communities as well as responding to enquiries to our Information, Advice & Support (IAS) line. We are looking for an excellent team player with resilience and a strong focus on improving outcomes for children, young people and their families. You will be an excellent communicator, with the ability to deal confidently and professionally with a wide range of people. You will strive for excellent standards of customer service, showing empathy and understanding and offering timely information and signposting.

We will provide you with fully accredited training to carry out this role. The role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Salary: BAND 3 – (12-16) SAY Payscale 2024-2025, from £24,948 to £26,845 per annum, pro rata.

Point 12 to start while gaining IPSEA Level 3 legal training, then Point 13-16 £25,409 to £26,845 per annum, pro rata.

Hours: 21 hours a week, worked over three or four days, during opening times. Some flexibility may be needed during the evenings or weekends to attend events or to attend team meetings or training.

Location: Royal Oak House, Royal Oak Avenue, Bristol BS1 4GB. Attendance at community events within the South Gloucestershire Local Authority area is required. There is some flexibility for home and office working.
