Provides mentoring and coaching services to voluntary, public and private sector leaders.
We find volunteers to befriend disabled children with to prevent social isolation and promote fun. The volunteers are interviewed and police checked and we ask them to commit for a year. We carefully match them to a child whose interests are similar. The volunteer works either in the home on a one-to-one basis or takes the child out into their local community. By doing this the carers receive a short break from their caring responsibilities therefore reducing stress and fatigue.

The vision of the Tortworth Forest Centre is to restore one of the country’s most important arboretums at Tortworth, and in doing so, create a vibrant outdoor learning centre available to schools, community groups, teachers and environmental educators across the region. The Centre will aim to nurture the next generation of wildlife enthusiasts and encourage new audiences to learn new skills and engage with conservation.
We are working to restore and manage the Tortworth Arboretum as a community woodland. We run community events, volunteer programmes (including sessions with a focus on improving mental health) and wellbeing projects (like the Hawthorn project, for women in recovery from addiction).
