Borderlands is a local charity dedicated to working with asylum seekers and refugees in Bristol. It provides free english, maths, art, and computer classes; hot food; a welcome space; mentoring; support and signposting services.
Boss Employment is a social enterprise set up to help people with a learning disability or difficulty find out about work. We provide information, put on events and training as well as support employers interested in employing people. BOSS is linked to many of the employment service providers, colleges and support organisations and can help access the support you need. Family support centre based in Kingswood, Bristol. We are part of the Bristol Community Church Trust (Reg Charity no. 1044496). We aim to provide a safe and confidential space where families and individuals can seek practical and emotional support. The core services we offer are play therapy, adult counselling and parenting courses. We ask for a voluntary contribution for our services but would not turn anyone away if they cannot pay.
Funds medical research into the causes, diagnosis and treatment of dementia. It does this by raising funds from the public and awarding grants to research teams in universities in SW England and S Wales.
BrAMS is a unique centre of excellence, which offers, New MS treatments, new drug trials, leading Stem Cell Research, has Four MS Specialist Nurses, a Physiotherapist, Three MS Neurological Consultant Doctors, two Neuro Registrars and two GP's specialising in MS. We are a registered community interest company. We create drama for education and for community events (street theatre, participatory events) and make theatre for everyone and often tour it to unconventional venues in places not known for theatre (e.g. children's centres, at community events like Art in the Park wiht Entertaining Local Knowle). Our flagship projects are St Annes House (a creative and community hub) and Bricks Public Art and Creative Infrastructure Consultancy
Bridges for Communities connects people of different cultures and faiths, enabling them to build friendships and grow in their understanding of one another. We also support refugees & asylum seekers and equip people with cultural awareness training and skills towards employment.
