The Swimathon Foundation Community Grants Scheme offers funding to groups and individuals who provide and promote swimming in their local community.

Grants of between £500 and £2,500 are available.

The grants are administered by Swim England and the Swimming Trust and are awarded on an annual basis.

The funding aims to encourage and support organisations which increase access to swimming and provide activities aimed at helping individuals and communities enjoy the benefits of swimming throughout their lives.

Cyclists in a number of cities will benefit from a £7 million government investment in projects to improve road safety, helping create more bike-friendly areas.

The funding has been announced as part of the Department for Transport’s cycle safety review, which will help ensure that our roads are as safe as possible for all who use them.

The Theatres Trust's Theatre Improvement Scheme, in association with the Wolfson Foundation, is a capital fund that awards grants of up to £20,000. The scheme will run for three years, and each year will fund projects with a specific theme. The theme for 2018 will be Improving Accessibility.

In 2018 funding will be awarded to projects which make their theatre more accessible through changes to the building or its systems. The scheme will fund theatres and projects of all sizes that demonstrate excellence in the pursuit of becoming an accessible theatre.

The Women’s Vote Centenary Grant Scheme is a £1.5 million government fund that will support local and community groups across England in celebrating the centenary of women gaining the right to vote.

There are two grant sizes:

1.Large grants of between £2,000 and £125,000 to fund projects that increase the understanding of, and engagement with, democracy and encourage women to participate in public life. This is now open for application. Round 1: deadline 27 Feb, Round 2: opens April

South Gloucestershire Councils' Member Awarded Funding (MAF) scheme that gives councillors the opportunity to make awards to projects and services that benefit residents in their ward, is in its second year of operation. Each councillor has £3,000 to award to local projects and services before 31 March 2018.

Grants up to £3,000 must be awarded before 31 March 2018. Local community groups, social enterprise organisations and town and parish councils are eligible to apply to their ward councillor for funding to support local projects, events and services.
