The Department of Levelling Up, Housing & Communities (DLUHC) has launched a second funding round through the Night Shelter Transformation Fund. The Night Shelter Transformation Fund is available to small to medium VCSE sector organisations to enhance their services and improve outcomes for people experiencing rough sleeping. Organisations can apply for capital and revenue funding. Revenue funding of up to £100,000 can be for one-year or two-year funding. Capital funding of up to £100,000 is only available for one-year: 2023/24.

The National Lottery Community Fund has just announced that from the Autumn, Awards 4 All grants (the Lottery Small Grants) will be available for up to £20,000 and will be awarded over two years instead of the current 12-month deadline.If your group is contemplating an application, it might be worthwhile waiting until the new grant levels go live.

Lloyds Bank Foundation has just launched a programme for small and local charities with an income between £25,000 to £500,000 which are led by and working with d/Deaf and Disabled people who are experiencing poverty. Organisations can apply for a three year unrestricted grant of £75,000.

Support with making the application procedure accessible is available. There will also be a webinar on 21st June where you can ask additional questions.

Bupa Foundation Green Community Grants support practical projects which help both people and planet health through funding amounts between £250 and £2,500. The scheme  is open to all schools, registered charities and not-for-profit organisations across the UK.

Priority will be given to the regeneration of green spaces for community use, however other examples include:

Sport England has widened its Small Grants programme to provide support for projects that deliver environmental benefits for local communities. The programme will not only provide funding to encourage greater participation in sport and physical activity, but it will also award grants of up to £15,000 for projects that benefit the environment. This could include purchasing locally made equipment, using local community assets to minimise travel, energy meters to help reduce energy usage, or recycling or re-using sports equipment to reduce and eliminate waste.

UK registered charities can apply for grants of up to £7,000 for projects that improve the quality of life of older people. The funding, which is made available through the Charles Hayward Foundation’s Small Grants programme, will support preventative and early intervention programmes that help older people to stay in their own homes and remain independent.

Applications are invited from charities and not-for-profit organisations in England and Wales for projects that help disabled or disadvantaged people connect with nature and the countryside.

The CLA Charitable Trust supports projects that improve the physical and mental health and wellbeing of people who are disabled or disadvantaged by helping them to visit and participate in recreational and educational opportunities in the countryside.

Schools, youth groups, not for profit organisations and charities can apply for grants of £500 to £2,750 to support recreational trips or holidays within the UK for groups of disabled or disadvantaged children (aged 13 or under).

Priority will be given to applications coming from the 20% most deprived areas in the UK. Funded by the Henry Smith Charity, grants can cover up to two-thirds of the cost of a holiday or trip lasting one to seven days.
