A free training evening exploring the transitions that young people navigate in adolescence. How might we support them as they grow in their understanding of who they are?

VolTrain is a partnership between several organisations, including Bristol City Council, to equip, resource and train volunteer youth workers in the Bristol area. It is open to all volunteer youth workers across both statutory and voluntary sectors and is completely free. Paid workers may also attend if they are accompanying volunteers.

This half day free training course has been developed by Women’s Aid working in partnership with Bristol City Council, Pubic Health and Bristol Zero Tolerance.

The in-depth training follows on from any initial and introductory training sessions for businesses and is aimed at Workplace Champions to further raise awareness of domestic abuse and workplace issues, thus offering those who experience domestic abuse at home, a safer, more supportive and better response in their workplace.

Many of the complex challenges we face are really urgent: from climate change to fuel poverty, we need action yesterday. But in our haste many are left behind and the decisions we make are poorer for it. After all, how can we create a world that works for everyone if we don't include everyone in building it? In this interactive workshop we will explore how to encourage deep listening and meaningful participation in meetings, and how to facilitate decision making to ensure everyone's voices are heard.

This Finance Forum will concentrate on budgeting in a collaboration, particularly for VCS organisations applying for VCS Grants Prospectus funds. It will include specialist input from Burton Sweet (charity specialists in accounting, finance and legal matters) and the opportunity to discuss aspects of budgeting across several organisations in a collaboration.

The Volunteer Organisers' Forum is used to promote and share best practice for those managing or coordinating volunteers.  We meet quarterly to discuss a variety of issues relevant to volunteering such as volunteer recruitment, employability, DBS checks, volunteer retention, thank you events, welfare reform impacts, volunteers and the law amongst others.  Featuring speakers and mini workshops, this forum is also a great opportunity to network.

It will offer training to organisations seeking to apply for prospectus funding and will also help organisations think about how to manage reductions in funding.
