An Organisational Approach to Safe Practice with Children and Young People in the Creative and cultural sectors

This year we have new Summer School programmes on offer at UWE's Centre for Fine Print Research, ranging from one day workshops to five day intensive Masterclasses.

Sewing :

Mondays mornings 9:30-12:30am : FREE for those on means tested benefits. 

- Learn to use a sewing machine & hand stitch

- Repair, recycle, embellish & customise your clothing

- Explore the possibility of self employment 

Personal Development :

Tuesdays mornings 9:30-12:30am : FREE.

- Explore a variety of ways in which to change, grow and achieve your potential

- Make plans and set personal goals 

- Explore future careers, educations and volunteering options 

A free course to build your skills and confidence in making the most of your money.

Our sessions cover:

· Taking control of your spending

· Cutting costs through Smart Shopping

· Understanding bills and their consequences

· Credit, banking and borrowing options

· Money planning/ budgeting

This is the first of 3 sessions, with each providing practical tools and resources to take away and use at home.

Practice your English in a relaxed, friendly environment, supported by a tutor and volunteers. Develop your confidence in communicating during everyday situations or job interviews. This free course consists of 5 sessions starting on Thursday 19th April from 1pm - 3pm.

Integrating Mindfulness and Compassion in Professional Practice (IMCPP) Qualification

Free Employability Workshop which will help you develop your confidence, self-esteem and CV. We are running 2 workshops  Tuesday 15th May 2018. The first in the morning from 9.30pm to 1.00pm and the second is 1.30 - 5.00pm; you only need to attend ONE workshop not both so sign up for whichever one is convenient.

We are holding a short Cancer Prevention Training event to raise awareness of the importance of Cancer Screening and the Be Clear on Cancer campaigns for people who run community groups and/or work in the Voluntary Sector.
